Navy Point Family,

There are no planned events for this week. Please see a few reminders and upcoming dates below.

1) We are beginning to have more and more students showing up with toys in their backpacks. No toys are allowed at school. They are major distractions for the student and others around them.

2) Please contact the teacher if you have questions or concerns regarding your student's progress.

3) We will hold our first PBIS school-wide event on Friday, September 28. ONLY students with an A or B citizenship average will be invited to attend. Please encourage your student to follow all school rules and to make smart choices.

Navy Point Families,

There are no scheduled events for the week. We would like to remind parents of the importance to have students at school each day and on time. Students miss important reading instruction/intervention when they are late to school. The instruction provided each day is unable to be made up when students are absent. Completing the make up assignments alone will not replace the quality instruction missed.

Make sure you are asking students for the green citizenship form every Friday. The grades on these forms will be entered into FOCUS gradebook to determine students’ citizenship grades for progress reports and report cards.

We will hold our first PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) school-wide event on Friday, September 28. ONLY students who have a citizenship average of an A or B will be invited to attend. Students with a C average or less will stay back with a teacher to be re-taught character education lessons. Please remind your student of the importance to follow the school rules and to make smart choices everyday.

If you have concerns regarding your student please schedule a conference ASAP. The teacher will be able to provide you with strategies to support the home instruction.

Navy Point Family,

Thank you for an AWESOME first week. This is a reminder that we will begin our normal school hours on Monday, August 20. Please plan accordingly.

A few additional reminders:

1) Parents should remain in their vehicles during afternoon car pick up. This is for the safety of all students.

2) Please sign in at the front office if you plan to walk your student to class in the morning. You MUST have a photo ID in order to obtain a pass to enter the building or for early checkouts.

3) If you have not returned the beginning of year papers please do so by Friday, September 24.

4) It is important that we have updated contact information on file. If there is an emergency we need to be able to contact a family member.

5) We will begin marking tardies this week. Remember that a parent MUST walk the student inside for late check in after the 7:45 a.m. bell.

6) We will begin baseline testing of students for STAR and i-Ready this week. It's important for students to be present and on time each day.
