Superintendent Thomas just sent a callout acknowledging that there will be school tomorrow Thursday, January 18, 2018. Parents are encouraged to take extreme caution as students wait for buses or walk to school. The temperatures will continue to be a concern and all outside activities will be canceled for tomorrow as well.

 

Navy Point will be cancelling our Chick-Fil-A night tomorrow as well. This is to ensure that all families are safe and warm at home during the 5:00-8:00 timeframe.

Monday, January 15: Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (NO SCHOOL)

 

Thursday, January 18: Chick-Fil-A Night 5:00-8:00. Please visit the Navy Blvd. Store and let them know that you are from Navy Point Elementary. Part of the proceeds will come back to our school.

 

Friday, January 19: We will have our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) drawing. Please remind your student to follow our 3 school rules: Be respectful, Be responsible, and Be ready. When they earn patches for following the rules, they turn them in for a chance to win a prize of choice. Your parental support in helping make our efforts effective is strongly encouraged each day.

 

**We will hold JRFH (Jump Rope For Heart) Monday, January 29-Friday, February 2 during P.E. classes. Packets were sent home on Tuesday for students to begin raising funds to support the event. Please contact Coach MG for questions regarding JRFH.

Due to the shortness of last week, some teachers may or may not have sent home the green weekly citizenship report on Friday. If you did not receive one, please don't panic. We will resume our regular schedule this week. Therefore, this Friday, January 12, 2018, ALL students should come home with the sheet to be reviewed by a parent, signed, and returned on Tuesday, January 16. Please contact the school if you have any questions.

Progress reports are sent home with students

 

We are still accepting can goods ONLY for our Manna Food drive. Please donate if you can to help others. The morning of Tuesday, November 14th will be our final collection period. 

 

Wednesday, November 15
Kindergarten Parent Day 1:00-2:00

1st grade Parent Day 8:30-10:00

 

Chick-Fil-A Night 5:00-8:00 Navy Blvd. Store. Please let them know you are with Navy Point Elementary 

 

Friday, November 17
Monthly PBIS event will be held. ONLY students who have an A or B in citizenship will be invited to attend. Kona Ice will be on campus for those attending to make a purchase. The prices are $2, $3, $4, $5, and $6. Refills are $3 on select cups and colt changing spoons are $1. Again, ONLY students invited to attend the monthly event will be allowed to make purchases. All money need to be delivered no later than 12:00 noon. Our office staff will not be able to make delivers after this time.

 

Please remind your student to follow our 3 school rules each day to earn an invite. Be respectful, Be responsible, and Be ready! Following these rules earn great citizenship grades.

We are continuing with our Manna Food Drive. Please send in non-perishable items to help those needing extra support during the holiday season. The last day to send in items will be Thursday, November 9.

 

Thursday, November 9: Stone's Studio will be on campus to complete make up and holiday pictures begin at 8:00. Only students making a purchase will be photographed for the holiday pictures. Any new students or students who were absent on our October picture day will be photographed for the make ups.

 

3rd and 5th grades will host their family nights. Both events will be held from 5:00-6:00.

Monday, October 30-We are having to cancel the 1st quarter award ceremony due to an unforeseen issue. We will be giving students their certificates and a special treat instead. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause anyone. 

 

Tuesday, October 31-Students may dress as their favorite storybook character or a vocabulary term. No masks are allowed. We do ask for a $1.00 donation that will go toward Relay for Life.

 

On Wednesday, November 1st we will kick off our Annual Manna Food Bank Drive. Students are asked to bring in can goods and other non-perishable food items to support those needing extra assistance during the holiday season.

 

Please remind your students to follow our school-wide rules daily. We want to increase the number of students attending our monthly PBIS event in November. Remember that students must maintain an A or B average in citizenship to attend.

Tuesday, October 24-We will hold our annual volunteer orientation for those interested in working at the school this year. New paperwork is required each year for volunteer services. 

 

Thursday, October 26-Our 3rd graders will performing the Fall Spooktacular at 6:00 p.m. Families are invited to attend. 

 

PARENTS: We will hold our monthly PBIS event on Friday, October 27. Please remember that ONLY students who have an A or B average in citizenship will be invited to participate. Kona Ice will be on campus as well and available to those students who will be attending the PBIS event. We do ask that all money be sent with students on Friday morning. We will be unable to deliver money to students after 12:00 noon. Please contact the school if you have any questions.

Monday, October 16-Report cards go home for all K-5 grade students

 

Thursday, October 19-Chick-Fil-A Night from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Please visit the Navy Blvd. store and say that you are with Navy Point. We will receive partial proceeds back to support our school needs. If you go during lunch be sure to say that you are with NPE. Thanks in advance for your support.

 

Friday, October 20-We will have our next PBIS student drawing. Parents please remind your student to turn their patches in before Friday morning.

Happy first day of October😊Here are our activities for the upcoming week:

 

Monday, October 2-We begin a new month and a new opportunity for ALL students to attend our monthly PBIS event at the end of the month. Students MUST maintain an A or B citizenship average in order to participate. This month’s participation for Kona Ice will include ONLY those students who have earned their way into the PBIS event. 

 

Parents, please remind your students to follow our 3 school rules (Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Ready) and to make the BEST choices during every situation.

 

Tuesday, October 3-Teach Flu A Lesson (Nurses will be on campus to administer the flu shot free of charge to students who returned the permission form) 

 

Tuesday, October 3-Parent Chromebook Orientation for students in grades 3-5 at 8:00 a.m. The orientation is mandatory if you would like your student to bring home their chromebook.

 

Thursday, October 5-Another Parent Chromebook Orientation at 2:30 p.m.

 

Friday, October 6-End of the first 9 weeks.

ATTENTION ALL! Navy Point Elementary will be launching a drive to help Bonita Springs Elementary located in Lee County Florida. Many of the students lost everything during Hurricane Irma. This is great opportunity for us to teach our students the act of giving and support of fellow citizens through community service. We will run our drive from Monday, September 25-Thursday, October 5. Below is a list of items we will focus on providing.

 

Toiletry items (tooth brush, soap, tooth paste, etc.)

 

School supplies (notebook paper, crayons, scissors, glue)

 

Please send the items in daily with your student. We will have a centralized location for all items to be collected. We thank you in advance for anything you are able to provide.

These are the upcoming events for September 25-29:

 

Thursday, September 28-Chick-Fil-A Night for Navy Point from 5:00-8:00. Please encourage all friends and family to visit the store on Navy Blvd. and be sure to tell them they would like the receipt to go to Navy Point Elementary. We will receive partial proceeds from the night. All monies received will go towards the end of year 5th grade trip. Please help us get the word out!

 

Thursday, September 28-Sunshine Book Crew parent meeting. The meeting is mandatory for all 3-5 students interested in participating with the crew this year. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Don't forget to stop by Chick-Fil-A before or after the meeting😊

 

Friday, September 29-Kona Ice will be on campus from 1:00-2:00 for students to purchase a healthy snack. The prices depending on size are $2, $3, $4, $5, or $6. We encourage students to bring cash. Kona is equipped to take cards, but a parent would need to be present. 

 

Parents, make sure you are scheduling conferences with teachers if you are concerned about your student's academic progress. During the conference the teacher will be able to provide you with resources to support the student at home.

On Friday students should have come home with an envelope regarding our school store fundraiser that will begin Monday, September 18. Please be sure to read the items in the envelope for specific directions.

 

If you did not receive a progress report last Thursday please contact your child's teacher. Please sign and return the progress report as soon as possible.

 

We will hold our next PBIS drawing Friday, Sept. 22. We ask that you remind your students to follow all school rules in order to earn patches for the drawing. Thank you for your continued support!

There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday in observance of Labor Day

 

3rd-5th Grade Parents: We will be offering 2 opportunities for you to attend the required Chromebook Orientation for Parents this week. The first will be held on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. and another one on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Please remember that before your student will be able to bring home their assigned chromebook you MUST attend one of the orientations and sign a permission form. We will have additional orientation dates in the next 2 weeks.

 

A representative for the local Girl's Scout will be on campus Thursday from 2:30-4:00 for their annual recruitment meeting. All interested girls and their parents should plan to attend. Please contact the school if you have additional questions. Wishing each of you an AMAZING Labor Day and week😊

ATTENTION, ATTENTION: We have kicked off our t-shirt sale for the year. Make sure you get your shirt and hoodie of choice ordered ASAP. The order information was sent home with students Friday. 

 

We had our first PBIS drawing on Friday. Ten student names were pulled based on the patches they earned for following our school rules: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Ready! Please ask your student what each of these rules look like and sound like in the different locations around campus. Our next drawing will be held on Friday, September 8th. Encourage your student to earn those patches for making the right choices for an opportunity to win.

 

We will begin hosting our monthly PBIS events in September. Remember that students are admitted to the events based on their citizenship average. All students attending the monthly events MUST have an A or B average in citizenship.

PARENTS: Your student should have come home with the first citizenship report for the year yesterday. If you did not receive it please contact your student's teacher. Please expect these every Friday unless otherwise stated. They will always be on green paper. 

 

If you have not returned the blue and yellow verification forms sent home the first day of school please do so ASAP. This information is used to update our datatbase which is used for multiple purposes. And we want to reach parents if there is an emergency.

 

Our t-shirt sell will begin the week of August 28th, so be on the lookout for information.
